Update: Deadline Extended to January 17th, 2017

Have you ever wanted to visit beautiful Nova Scotia? Are you working on any projects that examine how the design of communication is practiced, researched, taught, or theorized? If so, consider submitting a proposal for SIGDOC 2017!

The 2017 conference of the ACM Special Interest Group on the Design of Communication (SIGDOC) will take place August 11-13 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The conference theme is “Contexts of Use and Implications for Content and User Experience Design.”

Industry and academic researchers are invited to explore connections between context, use, content, and design and to examine the role of data, analytics, and user feedback in content and UX design processes. The conference also invites researchers to consider innovative approaches to cultivating productive, mutually beneficial partnerships between design experts working in industry and design experts working in academia.

We are also happy to share that our conference is co-locating with the SIGKDD conference—which presents research in data mining and big data—and which will be happening after the SIGDOC conference in Halifax August 13-17.
