10 October, 2012

The final day of IPCC, and we started with a morning keynote. Jon Leydens, winner of the Lufkin Award for Best Paper in the 2012 Conference Proceedings, argued for the role of social justice in professional communication. Part of the presentation included a memorable illustration of the distribution of wealth in the United States. Asking for volunteers from the audience, Jon distributed paper plates according to each participants’ share. Ron Blicq ended up with quite a few plates!
We wrapped up the 2012 conference with plans for the 2013 conference in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hope to see you there!
