Wow, yesterday was a full and fun day!  We wrapped up Day 1 with a keynote by Kirk St. Amant, who will be receiving the Blicq Award for Distinction in Technical Communication at tonight’s Award Reception.  Ron Blicq is here and will be giving the award to Kirk, quite a legacy of PCS history!

Today’s sessions were quite various, but here are some of the highlights.  We started the day with Charlie Kostelnick’s presentation on the pathos appeal in visual design.  Charlie shared many examples of visuals, both historical and current, and showed how the use of color and design contributed to the rhetorical appeals.

The sessions continue through today, with the afternoon keynote by Suguru Ishizaki at 4:00.  But even as the presentations and workshops go on, all of us have to keep track of what is happening back home (online courses, virtual meetings, you know, the usual).  Good thing we have great wireless in the UCF Student Union.

One of the things I appreciate most about IPCC is the chance it gives me to meet and network with colleagues from around the world.  Here are just some of the PCS members who are here this year.
