Double Issue of the Transactions—On Its Way to a Mailbox Near You
Published on July 5, 2012
Check your mailboxes: the new issue of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication should arrive soon.
If it looks like a double issue, that’s because it is. As was mentioned in correspondence with you earlier in the year and in earlier posts to this website, although the Transactions is publishing 4 issues in 2012 (as we have always done in the past), we are only printing and mailing 2 issues—a combined March-June issue and a combined September-December issue.
The March-June issue should arrive in your mailboxes soon.
Although doing so is admittedly a cost-saving issue, the primary purpose of the new print schedule—along with the announcement of availability of Early Access—is to promote the Transactions as a blended print-online publication.
To make sure that you are aware of developments with the issues, we will notify you by a direct e-mail message, an announcement on the PCS website, and social media when new issues are ready. We also plan to notify members when new articles appear in Early Access. (Watch for the first announcement very soon.)
