Though snow may still linger in your hometown, it really is time to focus on July in Ireland! I heartily recommend choosing on-campus housing for a number of reasons.

CONVENIENCE — No driving and looking for parking! Just walk a few minutes across a beautiful pedestrian river bridge, and you are in the thick of things.

COST — Though there are many good lodgings to choose from in Limerick, I have found that on-campus housing is very reasonable, given that a wonderful, fresh continental breakfast is delivered right to your apartment each morning. Consider also that you have free parking in the Village, and it makes good economic sense.

CVBedCOMFORT — Having an early cup of coffee or tea right in your residence, without having to get out of your robe and slippers, is amazingly important to some of us! The beds in Cappavilla Village are not huge but they are double size—just fine for most of us. And having your own private ensuite bathroom is great!

CVKitchen_loungeCONVIVIALITY — Six private bedrooms are arranged along a short hallway; they share a comfortable living room and lounge area, with a fully equipped kitchen. Where else can you enjoy gathering with a few new friends to relax after a full conference day, enjoying a drink or snack without having to leave your apartment and look for someone to talk with?

COUPLES — If you are bringing a spouse (and Jim is coming with me!), you will want to reserve a “double.” That means not a different bed size, but two side-by-side rooms, at a reduced charge. We have enjoyed having plenty of space to lay out our luggage, stash the golf clubs, and not have to unload a bed to sleep. Better hurry if you want this option, though—they go quickly!

These 5 Cs should convince you to make your housing decisions now! We choose Cappavilla Village on the campus of University of Limerick.
