Annette N. Markham, PhD, is well known in the fast-growing and intricate world of internet research, social media, qualitative methodologies, and ethics as they pertain to research and theory in those areas. Currently an associate professor in the Department of Aesthetics & Communication at Aarhus University, Denmark, she holds a concurrent position at the Department of Informatics, Umeå University, Sweden. She is also an affiliate professor in the School of Communication at Loyola University, Chicago. Brian Price, MS, currently teaches in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Aston University, UK. His teaching career began after an earlier career that focused on the development, creation, and design of powertrain technologies. Over the years, he has held a variety of engineering leadership positions inside well-known companies such as Jaguar Rover Triumph, Harley-Davidson, Mercury Marine, Cosworth Engineering, and Lotus Engineering. He speaks regularly at international conferences on engineering practice while also serving government and industry interests as a corporate representative.
Darina M. Slattery, PhD, is a lecturer and head of Technical Communication and Instructional Design at the University of Limerick. Her doctoral research explored how computational methods can be used to examine the language in financial reports and automatically predict the likely share price direction, depending on the language used. Her teaching and research interests include instructional design, e-learning, technical communication, information design, and virtual teams. Her research is published and pending in various international journals including the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication and the Journal of Technical Writing and Communication.
