Craig Baehr: New Transactions EIC Announced

The IEEE Professional Communication Society (ProComm) is excited to announce Dr. Craig Baehr as the upcoming Deputy Editor in Chief. Baehr will begin a six-month role as Deputy Editor beginning 1 July 2025 and commence as Editor-in-Chief on 1 January 2026.
Craig Baehr, Ph.D., is a technical and professional communicator with a broad range of experience spanning nearly 25 years, including roles as executive editor, tenured university professor, technical writer/editor, published author, accredited trainer, and program director. His published books include Web Development: A Visual-Spatial Approach (2007), Writing for the Internet: A Real Guide for Communication in Virtual Space (2010), The Agile Communicator: Principles and Practices in Technical Communication (2015, 2017, 2019, 2024 editions), and Information Experience: The Strategy and Tactics of Design Thinking (2025). He has served as Executive Editor for Intercom and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication. Dr. Baehr has worked in both academia as Professor and Graduate Director of Technical Communication at Texas Tech University, and in industry as an engineering technical writer/editor, Web developer, and program director for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He also served as a Past President, Chief Examiner, and Fellow for the Society for Technical Communication. Currently, he teaches graduate courses in the Technical Communication and User Experience programs at Arizona State University.
