The IEEE HKN Student Leadership Conference was held Nov 7-9, 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Dr. Mary Glavan, member of the ProComm Board of Governors, presented a workshop titled  “From Resume to Relationship: Networking That Recruiters Remember” (see description below). The workshop was very well-received by the approximately 50 students who attended. Many students expressed interest in developing their professional communication skills generally, and especially for interviews and recruiting conversations.

Event Description

The workshop was very well-received by the approximately 50 students who attended. Many students expressed interest in developing their professional communication skills generally, and especially for interviews and recruiting conversations.

The three-day leadership conference was a rousing success, attracting close to 400 students and young professionals. They enjoyed learning from industry professionals, networking with employers, and building camaraderie among the world’s top future engineering talent. One student had this to say about the conference, “This was my first time attending, and I am glad I came. I was able to network with other HKN chapters, IEEE societies, and companies and I gained a lot of helpful advice from the sessions.”

Eta Kappa Nu representatives noted that it was a pleasure working with the IEEE Professional Communication Society and that they value the partnership and look to expand ways to collaborate on our shared goals to support student success.
